Cookies

Cookie policy.

What this site stores, what it is for and how you change your choice.

What are cookies?

Small text files that a website stores in your browser, for example to remember a choice. There is also local storage (localStorage): information that stays in your browser and never leaves your device.

What does this site use?

The cookie banner itself. CookieYes places a necessary cookie (cookieyes-consent) that stores your choice, so we do not ask again on every visit. It stays for about twelve months, or until you delete it yourself.

The checklist after a death. If you tick items on that page, the site stores your ticks in the local storage of your browser (w2c-checklist), so you can continue later. This is functional and contains no personal data: the ticks never leave your device and stay until you delete them yourself.

The contact form. When you send the form, our server places a session cookie (PHPSESSID). That cookie does only one thing: remember when you last sent something, so bots cannot fire off the form dozens of times in a row. It is strictly necessary, contains no personal data and disappears as soon as you close the browser.

Nothing else. There are no analytics cookies, no marketing cookies and no social media cookies. If they are ever added, they only load after you accept them through the banner, and refusing is then just as easy as accepting.

Changing your choice

Click "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of any page; the settings window opens again. You can also delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.

More about your data

How we handle the details from the contact form and the server logs is explained in the privacy policy.
